Wayward Lab is where lived experience, scholarship, practice, and public questions meet.
We research. We write. We teach. We build curriculum. We document what we learn. We experiment with new models. And when systems need changing, we participate in the work of changing them.
We focus on questions like:
What would care look like if people were not reduced to problems?
What happens when culture is treated as living practice rather than representation?
How do institutions shape family, belonging, freedom, and whose knowledge counts?
What can practitioners learn from communities — rather than only bringing expertise into them?
How can research return something useful to the people whose lives produced it?
Work with the Lab.
We welcome conversations with researchers, students, educators, practitioners, artists, community organizations, funders, advocates, and people carrying questions that do not yet have an institutional home.
